Another Nokia online store is expected to be closed down in the near future, the UK portal, which won't have devices available for purchase as of June 30th, it seems.

Nokia’s online stores in France, Spain and the Netherlands were already shut down, and the company is moving forth with closing even more of them.

Apparently, the sales were not great as well, and, instead of proving profitable for the company, these stores were actually eating money.

At the end of May, when it closed the said online store, Nokia Spain explained that “prices are too subsidized by the carriers and sales were low, so they will keep providing support.”

The same should happen with the UK online store, which should keep on offering support for customers on the local market.

However, no handset will be available for purchase, and those interested in acquiring a new Nokia mobile phone should head to carriers or third-party retailers for that.

Nokia decided to shut down the various online stores it operates so as to cut down on costs, since it is getting through a rough period at the moment.

The company is moving from Symbian to Windows Phone as the primary operating system for its smartphones, and the transition seems to hurt it a lot.

Moreover, the move is accompanied by a series of other structural changes in the company, just as was announced a while ago, including the shutting down of some services, and the rebranding of other.

Nokia is expected to lose a lot of market share in the process of moving to Windows Phone, and already started losing ground in various markets around the world.

Some of the latest analyst reports suggested that the company might fall to the third position on the smartphone market this quarter, and that Symbian will lose its leading position on the market as well in the near future.
