A new flavor of Nokia's already popular Sleeping Screen application for Symbian^3 devices is now available for download, with a series of bug fixes and enhancements included into the mix.

Among these, we can count the fact that the application can now be installed on any drive, which means that users will have the possibility to have it on the memory card instead of the C: drive.

The new release of the application comes as version 0.55[9] and is available still in beta, with enhancements in installation packages, and more.

The release notes for the new application flavor include:

- Nokia Sleeping Screen can now be installed on any drive. We recommend 'Mass memory' so that it does not occupy valuable C: drive space. - User-created images are now compressed when saved to the installation drive. This too saves on disk space. - Added error texts in Settings UI if Qt Quick Components are missing or out-of-date. - Bug fixes in 2nd clock-only theme (the so-called 'Tron clock' with blue animated rays).

The mobile application has been installed and tested on the latest Symbian^3 and Symbian Anna devices, and should offer compatibility with Qt version 4.7.3 and QtMobility 1.1.3.

The mobile application was already tested on devices such as Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7 Astound, Nokia C7-00, Nokia E7-00, Nokia N8, Nokia N8-00, and the Nokia X7-00.

The application enables users easily select the application from the Settings >> Themes >> Screen Saver menu (opens Settings UI) and have it displaying specific images on the screen while the device is in sleep mode.

It provides options for selecting from 2 'clock only' styles, various clock + image themes, to enable/disable night clock, add personal images into the mix (they will be automatically modified to fit the phone's screen), and the like.
