Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is getting ready for making an appearance on the floor at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, between February 14-17m, and the company already announced some of the upcoming events for the show.

Nokia has listed on the a special website it put in place for the event a series of speakers that would be part of the Mobile World Congress conference program:

- Mary McDowell, Executive Vice President, Mobile Phones, will participate in a panel entitled “Taking Apps to the Mass Market” - Stephen Elop, President & CEO, will participate in a keynote panel entitled “Connecting the Dots – A 360° View on Consumer Electronics” - Rich Green, Senior Vice President & CTO, will participate in a panel entitled “Mobile Innovation: A Vision of 2020” - Teppo Paavola, Vice President & General Manager, Mobile Financial Services will participate in a panel entitled “Mobile Money: Mobile Strategies for Financial Institutions”

According to a post on the company's Symbian blog, those who will be present at the event and would like to learn more on Nokia's products would find the handset vendor's stands as follows: NAVTEQ in Hall 1, Qt in Hall 1, and NSN in Hall 8.

At the same time, the leading mobile phone maker announced that it will be the Day 1 sponsor of the App Planet Conference, in support for their developer outreach efforts.

Unfortunately, since the Symbian Foundation has closed its operations, no Symbian specific presence will be noticed in Barcelona this year, though Nokia would certainly have some things to say regarding the mobile platform.

In regard to the MWC show, Nokia announced that it would host press meeting rooms in Hall 4, Level 0 of Fira de Barcelona Convention Center, so as to offer members of the media the possibility to meet with Nokia spokespersons.
