On its own web page

It was only yesterday that Nokia Spain went official with the pre-order availability of the upcoming Nokia N97, and now we learn that the high-end smartphone can also be ordered in advance by users in the United States, Germany, Italy and Sweden on the phone's official page that just went online on the Finnish mobile phone maker's website.

For the moment, the handset is being sold with no contract agreements, which sets its price tag at $699, yet those who would like to wait a little bit until the Nokia N97 is added to the offering of a carrier will get it for a much lower price for sure. As we reported before, the one carrier that is expected to have the phone on its airwaves is Vodafone, which should launch it sometime in July.

In the meantime, the S60 5th edition smartphone can be admired on the Nokia site, and those who live in the above mentioned countries and would like to have a taste of Nokia's flagship slider and play around on its 3.5-inch resistive touch-screen display that offers a 640 x 360 pixel resolution can place their orders there as well.

According to some of the latest rumors on the Web, the mobile phone maker might release the high-end device into the wild as soon as June (it seems that only the European variant will come live then, while the NAM version should follow it a couple of weeks later), though there are also some who say the company announced that shipments of the Nokia N97 wouldn't start until July.

While waiting for an official word on the availability of the phone, you might want to check out Nokia's site to take a look at the features the second touchscreen-enabled Symbian S60 handset coming from Finland has to offer to those who will adopt it. You will also find there links to the Nokia sites where the phone can be pre-ordered.
