Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just announced the release of a new software version for its Nokia N86 8MP device. The new firmware for the handset seems to be 11.043, and has already been rumored to come around. The firmware can be downloaded from Nokia's website, and the update process can be performed using the PC solution the company provides, namely the Nokia Software Update.

“This software release lets you download content for your device with Nokia Ovi Store, which replaces Download! This release also includes improved landscape orientation functionality in Nokia Maps and improved imaging in video mode. Other improvements include Browser, Share Online, Camera, and Settings Wizard enhancements. You may be able to automatically receive the latest application and firmware update suggestions directly to your Nokia N86,” is what the mobile phone maker has to say about the new firmware version.

Previous reports that pointed towards the 11.043 version of Nokia N86 8MP's firmware also hinted at a series of bug fixes and other improvements, though they remain to be discovered after the software is installed. For what it's worth, the handset comes with UDP (User Data Preservation), though it would still be a good idea to back up your data before performing the update, just to make sure that you don't lose any important files.

As for the update process, it can be done through the Nokia Software Updater (compatible with Windows Vista or XP), after which users will have the possibility to update their applications directly from their device, by selecting Applications > Application Update from the phone's menu, and then choosing the apps they would like to update. The Nokia Software Updater is available for download on the company's site.

We should also mention that the company has recently unveiled another desktop solution that should replace some of the available software, such as the Nokia PC Suite, as well as the Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x and Nokia Nseries PC Suite, called Ovi Suite 2.0, which is currently in beta, intended mainly for testing purposes, and which can be downloaded from Softpedia too, via this link.
