Huge list of improvements and fixes

If you take a look over Nokia's firmware update, you'll most likely remain incredibly shocked, not because the list of improvements is extremely large, including all areas of the phone, but mostly because this shows that Nokia has launched a handset that features more bugs than ever before. In any case, the update is most welcomed, especially for N79 users.

The Finnish giant tries to wash away its sins not only by releasing a firmware to fix the bugs, but also by including in it some extremely appealing new features and updates. The focus regarding this issue falls on two new versions included in the firmware, NGage and Mail for Exchange. Other than this, there aren’t too many relevant additions but, if you feel the need to thoroughly check out the change log before downloading it, then you must make sure your time will not represent an issue.

The list of changes is extremely wide and diverse, starting with the IDLE issues this phone has been experiencing, “traveling” through the application manager, application update, and reaching the audio, Bluetooth, bookmarks and autorotate performances.

Surprisingly, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as the Browser and Streaming plus the Camera and Video change lists are far longer than you could have ever expected. Even so, the change log does not end here, moving on to the clock, connectivity, contacts, default settings and file manager fixtures. On top of this, the other, more important fixed areas are the menu, gallery, memory and memory card issues, the messaging and the music player list, which are also of titanic proportions, plus the Help, Home Media and the Telephony fixes, which come in just as great numbers as the others.

Looking at the situation from different perspectives, the fact that Nokia took the time and worked to fix all the bugs and then released the fixes is highly admirable but, on the other hand, just the idea that such a company would launch a mobile that features so many bugs is absolutely nauseating. This issue could mean that the internal problems Nokia is facing are bigger and harder to handle than expected.

In any case, users can now get the update through Nokia software updater or through Nokia service points in a couple of days.
