The Windows Phone handset might arrive on shelves tomorrow

Last month, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced the release of their first smartphones to run under the Windows Phone operating system on from Microsoft, the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710, and it seems that the two devices will hit shelves in Germany via O2 as well.

Some of the previous rumors on the matter suggested that the wireless carrier might not add Nokia's new Windows Phones to its offering, but it seems that it will actually carry them in some European markets.

A Telefonica official said not too long ago that Nokia's devices are a bit too expensive, and that the mobile phone maker should consider cutting their prices a bit.

At the same time, some suggested that Nokia imposed some high demand to carriers, and that Telefonica and O2 (Telefonica's subsidiary) did not agree with them.

However, a new report on O2's plans for Nokia's Lumia 800 suggests that things might have changed recently, and that the wireless services provider will bring it to shelves in Germany soon.

The wireless carrier is expected to add the handset to its offering as part of a “major holiday season strategy,” and is said to have units put on display in stores next to the Apple iPhone.

Moreover, the wireless operator is expected to have the new phone available starting with November 15th, which is no later than tomorrow.

O2 is also said to have plans for a major marketing campaign for the Nokia Lumia 800, and that it should promote it through written, audio and video channels all around the country.

Starting tomorrow, O2's customers will be able to purchase the black version of Lumia 800, while expected to have access to the cyan and magenta versions of the handset starting with December.

Nothing has been confirmed on this until now, but it should not be too long before official details on this are made available, so stay tuned for more.
