[IMG=1]Today, Nokia's Lumia 800 smartphone became available for purchase in France via Orange, marking the debut of the first ever handset from Nokia to run under Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system.

Users who would like to purchase the new device can find it available on wireless carrier's website here with a price tag of €99 attached to it with the signing of a contract agreement.

There is also a €50 rebate to be taken into consideration when making the purchase, and a three-day wait period for the handset to arrive in user's hands following the placing of an order.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first Windows Phone from Nokia, packing the 7.5 flavor of the OS, and specs that make it a desirable handset.

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, as well as with a fast 1.4GHz application processor inside.

The new device also sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for 720p resolution, and features 16GB of internal memory.

Moreover, the new mobile phone includes support for 3G networks, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, and built-in GPS receiver.

The handset will provide users with access to various services from Nokia, including Nokia Maps with Nokia Drive, as well as Nokia Music, and more.

At the same time, it offers support for various applications and games available for download for all handsets running under Windows Phone, as well as fast access to social networking sites, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more.

Orange France is only one of the wireless carriers to make the new device available for its customers.

Other operators in Europe already announced plans to add the new mobile phone to their offerings, when it goes up for sale, and more are expected to include it in their lineups starting with next year, when it will be launched in additional markets.
