14 DAY TRIAL // T-Mobile is the first US-based carrier that meets Nokia’s requirements for launching a device through its official channels. The Finnish company doesn’t have a good reputation among US carriers, on the contrary.
This is one of the main reasons that Nokia handsets were hard to find in North America, as their availability was very limited given the cold relationship between the handset maker and carriers.
It appears that Nokia’s handset were priced too high in order for carriers to be able to offer them at competitive prices and still have something to gain for each device sold.
Nevertheless, it looks like Nokia and T-Mobile USA found a way to solve this issue. Both companies announced the upcoming availability of the Lumia 710, one of Nokia’s first Windows Phone devices.
The smartphone will be officially released on the market on January 11, but the carrier already made the phone’s page available on its site.

Those unfamiliar with Nokia Lumia 710 should know that the smartphone runs Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system with the highly-acclaimed Metro UI.
The smartphone is powered by a single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon CPU, which is complemented by an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit.
On the inside, the phone packs 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which should be enough for standard users, as the Lumia 710 lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
Furthermore, Nokia Lumia 710 sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, image stabilization and HD (720p) video recording.
There’s also a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen based on Nokia ClearBlack technology, which supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass.
Nokia Lumia 710 will be available from T-Mobile USA for as low as $49.95 with a new two-year agreement.
