14 DAY TRIAL // Although Mobilicity has previously stated it won’t carry any Windows Phone devices, it appears that the operator will do the unthinkable.
The guys over at MobileSyrup have just learned that Mobilicity plans to release the Nokia Lumia 710 smartphone for only $249.99 CAD off-contract.
Currently available in Canada via Rogers for $254.99, the smartphone has been recently confirmed by WIND Mobile as well, though there are no details on the pricing options yet.
There’s a high chance that Nokia Lumia 710 will be offered by all regional carriers in Canada, including Videotron and SaskTel.
Obviously, we’re still waiting for confirmations from these operators, but the low price of the handset makes these smaller carriers jump in Microsoft Windows Phone’s wagon.
We’re not sure exactly when Mobilicity intends to release the Lumia 710, especially that the carrier removed the phone from its website. Luckily, there’s a screenshot of that page available which confirms the no-term price of the device.
Given the fact that Mobilicity inadvertently added the Lumia 710 on its site, we can safely assume that the phone is scheduled to be released within the next couple of days.
The smartphone will be shipped with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango on board, along with a pretty attractive hardware configuration.
In fact, aside from the rear camera, Lumia 710 has the same features as the more popular Nokia Lumia 800. That said, Canadian customer should expect this one to come with a decent 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display (480 x 800 pixels) integrated with Nokia ClearBlack technology, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
On the inside, the Windows Phone device packs a 1.4 GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.
