It appears that Samsung made a deal with Mobilicity, which provides the latter access to the latest products launched by the South Korean company, but only if the carrier offers its customers one or more older devices first.

Even if this speculation is not entirely accurate, the fact remains that regional Canadian carrier Mobilicity has just introduces the old Samsung Galaxy S 4G.

Although this is more than an year old, the Galaxy S 4G is priced at Mobilicity for a suggested retail price of $399 CAD off-contract.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G has recently seen another launch in Canada via WIND Mobile, which is now offering the smartphone for $399 CAD off-contract.

It’s been more than a year since the Galaxy S 4G has been launched on the market, as carrier-bound variant of the original Galaxy S, one of the most popular Android smartphones available on the market.

Initially released via T-Mobile USA, the smartphone comes with HSPA+ (21Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), which is also the main difference between the two Galaxy family devices.

Mobilicity also confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S 4G will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, though the phone was initially delivered with Froyo out of the box.

The large 4.0-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

The smartphone is powered by a standard 1 GHz single core Hummingbird Cortex-A8 processor, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of ROM.

The storage amount can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. According to Mobilicity, the phone is delivered with an 8GB free memory card in the sales package.

Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy S 4G sports a 5-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus and HD (720p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera for video calls.
