Nokia Lumia 710 made its debut on the Indian Market last month and the smartphone is already seeing a consistent price cut. Initially launched in India for around Rs 18,999 (380 USD or 295 EUR), the smartphone is now available for purchase for only Rs 15,490 (310 USD or 240 EUR).

Several major retailers across the country have already slashed the price of the Nokia Lumia 710, but the cheapest seems to be offered by Letsbuy, the folks over at BGR India claim.

The reason behind this price drop seems to be the fact that Lumia 710 is not so popular among mobile phone users. On the other hand, Lumia 800 recorded better sales but it’s still a bit overpriced.

Although the Lumia 710 is now cheaper in India, it will be interesting to see if this boosts its sales in the following weeks.

Nokia plans to launch another budget-friendly Windows Phone device next month, at the Mobile World Congress, which might lead to another price cut for the Lumia 710.

Unveiled three months ago at Nokia World 2011, Lumia 710 is the cheapest Windows Phone device launched by Nokia.

The smartphone comes with a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with support for 480 x 800 pixels resolution. Based on Nokia’s ClearBlack technology, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Just like its more expensive brother, Lumia 800, this one is equipped with a 1.4 GHz single-core processor, 8GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM.

On the back, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording. The device lacks a microSD card slot for memory expansion and supports only microSIM cards.

The phone’s 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 400 hours of standby time or up to 7 hours of talk time.
