The smartphone will be free on plans starting at £21 ($32.5 / €24.5) per month

Today, Nokia has officially confirmed the availability of the Nokia Lumia 625 smartphone on the UK market starting with August 28.

The handset will become available for purchase on monthly plans starting at £21 ($32.5 / €24.5) on the networks of O2, Vodafone, EE, and will also be available through retailers such as the Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u.

Furthermore, Nokia has confirmed that the Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be released on Pay As You Go too, priced at £179 ($277 / €209).

“The Lumia 625’s array of swappable colored shells are supported by a launch offer where for a limited time customers purchasing a black or white Lumia 625 will also be able to claim a free colored shell in Orange, Yellow or Green,” Nokia announced.

Nokia Lumia 625 is the largest Windows Phone 8 smartphone that Nokia has made official as of now, featuring a 4.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

The mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional storage space.

Furthermore, the handset sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back with full HD video recording, along with a front camera for video calling, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and support for 4G LTE networks.

“It’s a fantastic blend of affordability and performance, in short it’s the product that the UK 4G market has been waiting for.”

The mobile phone arrives on shelves in the UK with a variety of exclusive features and applications from Nokia, as well as with access to the over 150k applications available for download through the Windows Phone Store. It also comes with pre-loaded HERE maps and navigation applications.
