Nokia is once again calling developers to come up with new ideas for great applications for mobile phones and to submit them as part of two campaigns it put in place on its IdeasProject website.

The two challenges are open for about a month or so, and will result in the ideas chosen to be developed into real applications. Moreover, those people who came up with these ideas will be awarded with a Nokia phone.

One of the two campaigns is called Create4Millions and is aimed at coming up with an application that will offer value to users living in emerging markets. The competition will end on September 20, 2011, Nokia explains.

The second challenge is aimed at finding great ideas for applications that could help women both with their work, as well as with staying entertained.

“The challenge in Create4Millions is to identify an idea for an application that would add value and depth to peoples' lives, especially those in emerging growth economies,” Nokia explains.

“App ideas should fall into one of three categories: Health and Education, Social Netowrking and Location, or Games and Infotainment.”

Those who would like to submit their ideas in the Apps to empower women challenge will be able to do so until September 30, 2011.

Nokia notes that there are no categories for this challenge, yet those who would like to participate should consider time management, education, ways of offering women new communication channels, or giving them a voice, and even the ability to find work while leveraging social networking.

“The best ideator will receive a a Nokia phone of their choice and will see their idea developed into a real app by a team of women software developers and posted in Ovi Store,” Nokia explains.

In addition to being able to submit ideas to any of the two challenges, people are also offered the possibility to comment and vote on the ideas others have submitted.
