14 DAY TRIAL // Today, a new flavor of Nokia's Maps application was made available for download, with a series of changes to the user interface and the addition of a new app into the mix, weather. The new Nokia Maps 3.08 came out from the Nokia Beta Labs today with these features inside, and with others as well, offering Symbian users a better experience when it comes to planning a trip or to getting to a specific location in time.
Users of Nokia Maps will enjoy a cleaner UI as soon as they install the new Nokia Maps 3.08 beta on their devices. Moreover, the planning of trips is now easier with the new weather app that provides users with forecasts for the week, as well as with info on conditions by the hour.
Not to mention that the new application release brings along live traffic routing information on the Drive screen, along with easier to read search details, which should result in safer driving.
The release notes for the new Nokia Maps 3.08 Beta with weather include:

The new Nokia Maps 3.08 beta has already been tested on a series of Symbian devices, including Nokia N8, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7-00, Nokia E7-00, Nokia E6-00, Nokia X7-00.
The new application release comes with a series of bug fixes included into the mix too, as well as with various other enhancements, the development team explains.
Various improvements over the Nokia Maps 3.07 application flavor are available too, including new options menus in Drive, the possibility to set a contact as destination, and more:
- Live traffic routing takes traffic information into account to avoid traffic jams automatically (available in Germany, France, US, UK and Russia). - Turn on "Avoid traffic" in your "Route settings" to take traffic conditions into account while you drive. Always get the best route for right now. - New Drive look & feel - home screen now has buttons for "Set destination," "Drive home" and "Just drive." - "Just drive" or Drive assistance shows your accurate speed, gives speed warnings, the distance driven and real time traffic. - New information bar on Drive navigation and Drive assistance screens. - Also easily toggle between Estimated Time of Arrival in minutes or distance to your destination - just tap the icon on the screen. - Easily change your settings during Drive navigation. Changes in settings are immediate and can been seen instantly.
The software also comes with a new installation UI, aimed at providing users with info on what is being installed on their devices. However, it should be noted that the application needs an Internet connection at all times when installing.
Users who had Nokia Maps 3.06 or earlier installed on their devices should uninstall it before trying to install the new Nokia Maps 3.08. Specific information on the installation process can be found on the Nokia Beta Labs website (registration required).
