Initially set for a 2010 release, Nokia E7 has been postponed by the Finnish manufacturer for an early 2011 launch. While Nokia hasn't disclosed any details regarding the smartphone's specific release date, it seems that Nokia E7 is already available for pre-orders in a few selected countries such as: Finland, United Kingdom, Canada, as well as India.

Reasons behind the Nokia E7 delay are still unknown, but the consequences are shown in the manufacturer's financial results, where the device has no contributions to Q4's sales, as it was originally expected.

According to the guys over at Slashgear (via tipster Fransiscus), Nokia E7 is heavily promoted in Indonesia and is expected to be available sometime in February. The device is priced at 6,800,000 Indonesian Rupiahs (roughly $749) unlocked and SIM-free.

Nokia E7 is powered by an ARM 11 680 MHz processor (3D Graphics HW accelerator) and runs on the Symbian^3 platform. The smartphone comes with a 4-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 360 x 640 pixels resolution.

The device packs a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, as well as scratch resistant Gorilla glass display.

Other key features of the E7 include: GPRS and EDGE class 32, HSDPA 10.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, 16 GB of internal memory, 256 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, 3.5 mm audio jack and GPS with A-GPS support.

Nokia E7 boasts an 8-megapixel camera with fixed focus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection, as well as video recording capabilities (720p@25fps) and video stabilization.

In most of the countries where Nokia E7 can be pre-ordered, it is mentioned that the device will be released in February, though no certain date is specified.

We could speculate that Nokia is trying to postpone the release of the smartphone until mid-February, so it can introduce the E7 at the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona.

Speaking of which, starting on February 14, we will be there to keep you up to date with live reports on the latest product launches and presentations.
