It seems the E7 Symbian smartphone is going to be Nokia’s most delayed smartphone ever. The device was officially announced about six months ago and still hasn't seen broad availability.

Three UK is one of the many major carriers that postponed the handset’s launch a few times. The operator has recently confirmed via Twitter that the E7 will be available for purchase starting April.

Three UK's “Coming Soon” page has also been updated with the latest news, but no additional information regarding the phone's price and release date has been disclosed.

Nokia E7 is expected to carry a 4-inch ClearBlack AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and a 360 x 640 pixels resolution, complemented by scratch resistant Gorilla glass display that protects it from damage.

In addition to the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the device supports business applications from the manufacturer's enterprise technology partners including Microsoft and IBM.

Touted as the ‘ultimate business smartphone’, Nokia E7 provides direct, secure and real-time access to email, calendar, contacts, tasks and the corporate directory through Microsoft Exchange servers, as well as Office Communicator Mobile, especially developed by Microsoft for Nokia smartphones.

Nokia E7 is powered by an average ARM 11 680 MHz processor (with 3D Graphics HW accelerator) and runs on the Symbian^3 platform.

One of the strong points of the phone is the superior 8-megapixel camera with fixed focus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection, as well as video recording capabilities (720p@25fps) and video stabilization.

When it comes to connectivity, the E7 is an all-rounder, as it comes with GPRS and EDGE class 32, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, USB with On-the-Go support and is HSDPA-enabled.

Even though Nokia hasn't confirmed it yet, this might be one of the last Symbian smartphones launched by the Finnish manufacturer, as the company has recently decided to adopt Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 mobile platform.
