As Cingular brings new goodies to its customers every day, Fido finally decided to present its users with something new as well.

And this will be great news to all Fido subscribers that have been craving for a newer QWERTY keyboard mobile phone, and aren't quite satisfied with the LG 9200. They will soon enough have the possibility of getting a Nokia E62, another version of the Nokia E61 that has mostly the same features to offer except for 3G support and WiFi.

Although you can already find a E62 up for purchase at Rogers or Cingular, it is just a matter of time before Fido subscribers will also be able to fully enjoy the 240x 320 256k color TFT display, push e-mail, USB Mass Storage Mode, Quick Office for viewing and editing Word, Excel or Powerpoint files, Bluetooth 1.2 and other features that the E62 possesses.

Equipped with a 235MHz CPU, 32 MB RAM and 160 MB flash, MiniSd card slot for memory expansion and just about every Bluetooth profile you can think of, this handheld is bound to find some new owners on Fido.

The E62 has been fairly popular and appreciated in the USA, and there's no reason why it would be less popular in Canada.

Not much is known about the price tag so far but it will probably cost somewhere around $250 on a three-year contract. So, that means that Fido users that don't consider the LG 9200 a satisfying option will just have to wait until this handheld is released.
