Mobile phone carrier Vodafone Australia has just announced via its blog that the Nokia C7 smartphone should become available for purchase in the country via its airwaves starting with December 1st.

The Nokia C7 was announced officially in September this year, and was the second handset powered by the new Symbian^3 operating system to be unveiled to the world.

The handset comes with appealing features, most of which resemble the capabilities of the company's high-end Nokia N8 smartphone.

“The C7 is Nokia’s latest Symbian ^3 handset. It cleverly combines new technology encased in quality materials. This handset is perfect for customers who want class plus the convenience of an all in one device. The Nokia C7 will be available from December 1,” Vodafone Australia announced.

The specifications list of the new device includes a 3.5-inch touchscreen AMOLED display, which can deliver a 16:9 nHD (640 x 360 pixels) resolution.

The Nokia C7 also comes with support for 3G networks, as well as with WLAN IEEE802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity options inside.

The internal memory of this smartphone is of 8 GB, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32 GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the new mobile phone sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper with dual LED flash, auto focus, and HD video recording capabilities. There is also a secondary camera for video calls (VGA, 640 x 480 pixels) on the front of the device.

Integrated GPS, A-GPS receivers are also present on that specifications list, as well as support for email, fast web browsing, and social networking sites.

Among the email services that this device supports, we can count Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live, Hotmail. Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites are also easily accessible from this device.
