Although rumors about Nokia C7-00 launch at Videotron emerged more than a month ago, it looks like the carrier had a busy schedule, as the smartphone has been released only this week.

The smartphone is now available for purchase at Videotron for a reduced price of $89.95 that requires a monthly service fee of 40$ or more, or for $439.95 off-contract.

This is the fourth Nokia handset launched by Videotron, as the carrier also offers the C5-04, E73 and 5230.

[ADMARK1]On related news, the C7-00 is also retailed in North America via T-Mobile USA, but under a different name, Nokia C7 Astound.

For those who do not want to give up the old Symbian platform, the C7-00 is an interesting device to carry.

Although the phone runs Symbian^3 at the moment, the Finnish manufacturer confirmed that Nokia C7-00 will be updated to Symbian Anna sometime in June.

Equipped with a 680 MHz ARM 11 processor and Broadcom BCM2727 GPU (graphics processing unit), the C7-00's hardware is the best that Nokia can come up with for the moment.

The handset comes with a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors, 360 x 640 pixels resolution, proximity sensor for auto turn-off and accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate.

To make the phone more appealing Nokia embedded an 8-megapixel main camera with dual-LED flash, face detection and camcorder (720p@25fps).

Unfortunately, the autofocus feature has been replaced with fixed focus, which makes the main camera almost unusable for close ups. On the other hand, the secondary VGA front-facing camera is perfect for video calling.

The HSDPA-enabled smartphone packs 8 GB of internal memory, 256 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Other highlights of the phone include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP connectivity, HSUPA (2 Mbps) support, built-in GPS receiver and NFC support (requires software update).
