The new Symbian Belle smartphone already on pre-order

A few weeks ago, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced the release of a new series of devices running under the company's Symbian operating system, including the Nokia 700, a device that was already listed on the websites of UK retailers.

The mobile phone is based on the new Symbian Belle operating system and arrives on the market with a 1GHz application processor, a ClearBlack AMOLED display, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

SIM free, the new Nokia 700 mobile phone is listed on Play.com with a price tag of £259.99 attached to it, with free delivery. The handset is only available for pre-order at the moment, but it is expected to land on shelves starting with October 21st, 2011.

The smartphone is listed at Mobilefun.co.uk as well, with a price tag of £279.95 attached to it. It is available both in Grey and White flavors, also SIM Free.

The Nokia 700 is a slim device that should prove to the world that Nokia is still capable of offering powerful handsets at affordable price tags.

This is only one of the new Symbian phones that the company plans on making available for purchase in the coming months / years, although it will move to Microsoft's Windows Phone platform with its future smartphones.

The smartphone measures 110 x 50 x 9.7mm, weighs in at 96 grams, and packs 2GB of internal memory, complemented by a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The phone's specs list also includes Bluetooth 3.0, and microUSB connectivity, WiFi, 3.5mm AV connector, built-in GPS receiver, and a 1080 mAh battery inside. (via)
