Only one week is left until Nokia World kicks off and the Finnish company is expected to unveil its first Windows Phone smartphones.

Until then, the handset maker continues to launch its Symbian Belle series devices announced in 2011.

Nokia 700 is among the first to make its entrance in the UK, as the smartphone is now available at Vodafone.

Customers who want to try out Nokia's new Symbian Belle operating system can get the Nokia 700 for free but they will have to subscribe to a 24-month contract for at least £26 ($41 or 30 EUR) per month, which will get subscribers 300 minutes, unlimited texts, 500 MB of mobile data, and 1 GB of BT OpenZone Wi-Fi monthly.

Obviously, the carrier offers other price options as well, including a £20.50 per month plan for which customers will get 100 minutes, 500 texts, 250 MB of data, and 1 GB of BT OpenZone Wi-Fi monthly, but they will have to pay £99 ($157 or 114 EUR) outright for the Nokia 700.

Unveiled in August, Nokia 700 was slated for a Q4 release, as the Finnish handset manufacturer did not disclose any information regarding the phone's exact release date.

Aside Symbian Belle operating system, Nokia 700 comes with a powerful single core 1 GHz ARM11 processor, complemented by a 2D/3D graphics hardware accelerator with OpenVG1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0 support.

The HSDPA-enabled smartphone packs 2GB of internal memory, 1GB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

More importantly, the handset offers NFC (Near Field Communication) support, which allows users to read NFC tags while on the move.

Nokia 700 is one of the thinnest Nokia smartphones at only 9.7mm and comes with a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 360 x 640 pixels resolution, which is based on Nokia ClearBlack technology.

On related news, Symbian Belle-based Nokia 603 is now being shipped to selected stores worldwide.
