A new software solution has emerged for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, namely firmware version v50.0.005. The new software update for the full touchscreen device is reportedly available for most generic Euro codes and is being delivered over the air. However, the solution is expected to arrive via the Nokia Software Updater too, though in stages.

According to a recent article on symbian-freak, the new firmware version v50.0.005 for the Nokia 5800 is set to deliver a series of performance improvements, while also adding some new functionalities to the device. The solution is said to be available for most of the generic European and Asian product codes, though not all users will be able to find it listed for download, as it usually happens.

Unfortunately, no detailed change log for the new update was released, though some users already installed it and are reporting various enhancements, including: - music player with mini albumart view in all songs and album sections now like Nokia N97 music player - kinetic scrolling in the menu - music player improvements (faster refresh) - hide option in music player instead of exit - new 1 touch dialling and call settings options in dialler - improvements to the camera quality - option to enable history list in web browser - option to send webpage via message blutooth in webbrowser - Ovi Sync application added

Even if the new software solution does not come with official release notes, those who installed it say it works like a charm. We should also note that, even if the phone comes with User Data Preservation, one should perform a backup of all files on it before proceeding with the installation process, just to make sure that nothing of importance is lost.

Since new features and phone enhancements are welcome at all times, Nokia 5800 owners interested in downloading and installing the new firmware version should head over to symbian-freak to learn additional details on the matter.
