Killzone 3, the PlayStation 3 home console exclusive first-person shooter from Guerrilla Games and Sony, has been out for just about one week and everyone is already thinking about the future of the multiplayer side of the game.

The developers have plans to deliver more content to the game, but it will not include anything related to the Operations section.

The game mode is interesting because it allows teams of players to play missions that feature cutscenes incorporating the best players in the match, with a clear narrative structure.

At the moment, there are three different missions to try out in Operations.

In a question-and-answer session about Killzone 3 conducted on the forums of the PlayStation Blog, Seb Downie, who is a producer working at Guerrilla Games, said that it was unlikely that the first-person shooter would be getting any downloadable content that expands the reach of the Operations mode.

He then went on to say that the team is working on the multiplayer side of the game and they will deliver more maps and a lot of options linked to the match creation screen for both Guerrilla Warfare and Warzone modes.

Fans of Killzone 3 can look forward to the Steel Rain map pack for the game, which is set to introduce two new maps to the game, complete with a set of special weapons, like mini guns, and the change to use some of the bigger tools of destruction, like the mecha and the flying suits.

Junkyard is designed for the team deathmatch mode and will allow players to use a wide array of tools to take out enemy players while the Stahl Arms map allows for 24 players to engage each other in the brightly lit corridors of the weapons research facility.

We gave a very favorable score to Killzone 3 in our own Softpedia review.
