According to the latest news on the Web, Samsung has no plan to introduce a 12-megapixel camera phone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. It seems that the Korean mobile phone maker not only denied rumors about the 12MP handset, but also stated that it wouldn't unveil any Android-based handset at the show, as we already reported a few days ago.

It seems that some sources “familiar” with the phone maker’s internal marketing plans for the MWC conference have told the media that the company will make no announcements regarding either of the devices. “Samsung will not officially disclose information about the much-anticipated leading-edge phones,” notes Telecoms Korea citing the aforementioned sources.

On the other hand, the fact that the company will not come with the handsets at the mobile show does not mean that it is not working on them. As reported before, Samsung has pushed the release of a handset running under the Android platform for the second half of the year. The phone manufacturer didn't give any official explanations for its move.

As many of you might already know, Samsung announced previously that it was accelerating the development of the phone due to pressure from carriers. Given the recent delay, a possible explanation would be that carriers are more cautious given the crippled financial climate.

Most of the handsets Samsung plans on unveiling at the MWC show in Barcelona have already leaked to the web, while some of them have been officially announced by the phone maker, as is the case with the company's Tocco Ultra Edition or its solar-powered Blue Earth phone. In addition to these, there will also be a number of new devices featuring AMOLED displays. More information on the new mobile phones should be available as soon as the company unveils them at the show, so stay tuned to find out the details.
