Nintendo is getting ready to deploy the first major update for its 3DS console, in the form of the eShop online store, which is going to appear tomorrow for territories like North America, Europe or Japan, and bring lots of special content.

The Nintendo 3DS was released a few months ago, but, sadly for those who already bought it, a major feature, the online eShop, was missing, with Nintendo motivating the delay by saying that it wanted to take extra time in order to improve the experience.

First up, the firmware update that allows 3DS consoles to access the new features will be made available at the end of June 6 and beginning of June 7 around the world, with each territory getting a special batch of content.

Once this is installed, Nintendo 3DS users can access brand new features like the eShop or the Internet browser, another big feature that didn't make the official release of the 3DS.

In all territories, Nintendo is throwing in a free 3D remake of classic Nintendo Entertainment System title Excitebike, which can be downloaded free of charge until July 7, after which costing 600 Nintendo Points.

In North America and Europe, 3DS users are able to get a special Pokedex 3D application, which, as you can tell by its name, is a database of 150 Pokemon creatures from the recent Pokemon Black & White titles that appeared for the regular DS.

What's more, Nintendo confirmed that plenty of other content is going to be made available when the eShop is opened, with classic games like Super Mario land, Alleyway or Radar Mission going on sale.

In Japan, Nintendo released a more concrete list of games that will be available for download, which you can find below, courtesy of CVG.
