Nimbuzz have just announced the release of a new flavor of their mobile application for handsets running under Google's Android operating system. The popular Android VOIP application is now available in version 2.0, offering some very appealing features for Android phone users, including cheap international calling, better Facebook connectivity, and more.

According to the company, the main features of Nimbuzz 2.0 for Android include: - NimbuzzOut calling – cheap international calling to mobile phones and landlines - A new dialer tab – so you can call mobile phones and landlines via NimbuzzOut, SkypeOut or any of our SIP partners (Google/Gizmo5, Sipgate, Xeloq, T-Pad, VoIPax, Gulfsip, IPS, Badatel and more) - Friend suggestions – see which of your phonebook contacts are already using Nimbuzz - Facebook Connect – no more disconnecting errors!

The new version of Nimbuzz for Android should offer users the possibility to enjoy more calling over the Internet and more chatting with their friends. The application is available for download for free from the Android Market, offering owners of a Droid X, DROID Incredible, HTC EVO, HTC Aria, HTC Desire or any other Android-based device the possibility to save money on minutes and text messages.

NimbuzzOut brings super cheap calling to mobile phones or landlines around the world straight from the application. With friends suggestions, one can check which contacts are using Nimbuzz, while being able to choose which of them to be added to the the Nimbuzz contact list. Through the Dialer tab, users would be able to call mobile phone and landline numbers that are not included in the address book.

The last new feature, Facebook Connect, uses Facebook’s official API to connect people to Facebook Chat. “This will eliminate all disconnect errors, improve the security of your Facebook data, allow you to see the status message of your Facebook friends (love this one!) and you can use your custom Facebook username to login – instead of your email address (more on Custom usernames). Make sure you reconnect to Facebook once you have updated Nimbuzz on your Android phone,” the company notes.
