Google's Nexus One has just landed on the market in Korea on the airwaves of wireless carrier KT. The Internet giant promised that the mobile phone would arrive in the country, and now the second largest operator in the country has it. The most notable new feature of the device is the inclusion of Android 2.2 Froyo on it right from the start.

The new Android-based mobile phone was released in the country with a price tag of 699,600 won (around $577) attached to it, contract free. According to NewsWire (via UnwiredView), KT should have a great load of the device available in stores on Monday, June 21, while its users can purchase the handset online starting today, June 17.

As stated above, the Android 2.2 Froyo seems to be the most appealing feature of the Korean Nexus One. Google unveiled the new operating system version not too long ago, when it announced that Nexus One should receive it in the near future, but hasn't pushed it into the wild until now. However, it might not be too long before more Nexus One owners out there would have the possibility to taste the benefits of running Android 2.2 on their mobile phones.

Among the enhancements the new OS version brings into the mix, we can count native support for Adobe's Flash Player 10.1, along with faster web browsing functionality, enhanced voice recognition, and more. At the moment, Android 2.1 is the most used Android version on the market, but Android 2.2 seems to be shaping up as one of the most wanted upgrades, that's for sure.

Android is gaining ground on the mobile phone market around the world, and especially in Korea, where previously released devices running under it have enjoyed great success. The availability of Nexus One on this market should help the OS grow a little more, that's for sure.
