Nexus 9 tablet comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop

The Nexus 9 tablet has just been launched into the wild and is already at the center of some heated discussions. The tablet has already been proven to suffer from a number of issues, like light bleeds and making annoying clicking sounds.

But hopefully, these issues are limited to a handful of products. In the meanwhile, you have to know that the Nexus 9 has already received rooting treatment, thanks to Chainfire.

The root arrives equipped with an extra SuperSU, which has been designed to work with the Nexus 9 only. SuperSU for 64-bit devices also existed in the past, but the developer says it wasn’t really tested until now.

However, you need to take into consideration that the CF-Auto-Root framework (used to run the jailbreak) hasn’t been updated yet to work with the Nexus 9, so you will need to add a few extra steps to the overall rooting process:

- enable oem unlocking in Android developer options

- fastboot oem unlock

- fastboot boot inject.img

- fastboot flash boot patched.img

Also, be advised that you shouldn’t probably venture into rooting your Nexus 9 if you have no idea what the commands above are. Not to mention that many root applications are buggy, and given that this is the first Lollipop release, it’s bound to come with some problems.
