The next downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, presumably called Escalation, has just been leaked onto the web alongside its release date at the beginning of May.

Call of Duty: Black Ops, the massively popular and record breaking first-person shooter launched by Activision and Treyarch, is set to continue dominating its opposition.

We already saw the release of the First Strike DLC for the game, back in February for the Xbox 360, and during March for the PlayStation 3 and PC, so gamers are already eagerly awaiting the release of the next map pack.

According to a leak from the Australian division of retailer GAME, spotted by VG247, the new map pack will be called Escalation, and, just like the First Strike DLC, brings four new maps and a bonus level for the zombie cooperative mode.

The leaked image, which you can check out above, also has a few hints at the maps and their core elements.

The promotional photo urges Black Ops players to "Seize the Zoo," "Take the Hotel,""Secure the Convoy," and "Raid the Stockpile," as well as "Survive Call of the Dead."

The same picture also has a release date for the DLC, which is May 3, probably only for the Xbox 360, as part of Microsoft's ongoing partnership with Activision that allows any new Call of Duty content to be launched as a time exclusive for its platform, and then on the PC and PlayStation 3.

Neither Activision, the publisher, nor Treyarch, the developer of Black Ops, have commented on the leak, but it seems pretty official, so fans of the game should look forward to the beginning of May for some fresh multiplayer experiences.

Speaking of Black Ops, Treyarch Community Manager Josh Olin commented earlier this week that the company doesn't exclude the possibility of launching a direct sequel, Black Ops 2, in order to continue the story that proved to be a great addition to the already popular multiplayer mode of the Call of Duty title.
