The First Strike downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops has finally received some details about the PlayStation 3 and PC versions, including likely release dates.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has been one of the biggest first-person shooters of the last year, earning a huge amount of money through regular sales and lots of other profit through the recent release of the First Strike DLC.

The new map pack arrived as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360, but Activision has finally decided to share some news about the other editions of the add-on.

According to the company, PlayStation 3 gamers will be getting it next, as they'll be able to experience the four new maps and bonus zombie one on March 3.

"Treyarch and Activision are happy to announce that the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike Content Pack launches worldwide for the PS3 on March 3rd, 2011."

"Battle it out in four all-new multiplayer maps including Berlin Wall, Discovery, Stadium, and Kowloon. Expand the cooperative fight for survival in Ascension, the latest chapter within the terrifying Zombies saga."

PC owners, on the other hand, are once again left up in the air, as the company limited itself to saying that they'll receive the First Strike map pack later in the quarter, meaning probably around the end of March or beginning of April.

Activision is quite thrilled with the performance of First Strike on the Xbox 360, as it revealed that the add-on "set new Xbox Live records" with more than 1.4 million downloads in its first 24 hours, representing a 25 percent increase over Modern Warfare 2's Stimulus Package DLC.

Black Ops, despite huge profit and sales, has been affected by quite a few issues, especially on the PlayStation 3 and PC, but its development studio, Treyarch, confirmed that it was working round the clock to solve any and all problems encountered by players.
