Fresh rumors about the next Xbox console have popped up, this time saying that a possible release will happen ahead of the 2012 holiday season and that a reveal early next year at CES is very probable.

While the Xbox 360 is here to stay, at least according to Microsoft itself, rumors about a new device are popping up all over the place, some saying that we might see the console, with improved and more efficient hardware, in either in 2012 or 2013.

Now, a new report is coming from Windows Weekly, which claims that the next Xbox is set to appear at the end of 2012, right before the start of the holiday season. This should guarantee some impressive sales, if it's reasonably priced and backed up by some quality games.

The report mentions that, if a holiday release will come true, its reveal should come in the near future, probably at CES 2012, which takes place between January 10 and 13, next year.

Besides this possible release date, the report also says that the next Xbox will feature heavy integration with the upcoming Windows 8 operating system, as well the existing Windows Phone mobile OS.

Previous reports often mentioned that the new console, presumably called the Xbox 720, might have support for the next Windows OS, some even saying that it will run a special version of it.

As of yet, however, Microsoft hasn't commented on any of these rumors about the next Xbox, even if some of its developers might have working prototypes of the device to make sure that they'll have games ready when the actual console will be released.

Until then, expect Microsoft to continue focusing on the Xbox 360 as well as on its Kinect sensor, bringing lots of new games and experiences for them.
