The honeycomb launcher seems to be rather slow

Windows Mobile 6.5 has recently seen two leaked versions running in the wild, one of which has been spotted with the much talked about “honeycomb” launcher, and now we learn that a new and updated WinMo 6.5 ROM has been leaked for CDMA phones.

From what we've heard, the new leaked version of the operating system includes the “honeycomb” launcher as well, only this time it seems to work a little slower than expected, which could point towards the fact that the platform might use some hardware graphics acceleration to run smoothly. At the same time, Windows Media Player also comes with a healthy and praised makeover, which means that the user interface could also be a little more thumb friendly.

The newest features included in the leaked WinMo 6.5 ROM could be considered the MyPhone, Marketplace services that are complemented by the yet unseen “Outlook Live” application. If you take a look at the images, you'll see that the new feature is meant to offer a way to sync multiple e-mail accounts.

Those that are not familiar with Microsoft's moves, the software giant launched an “Outlook Live” service back in 2005, which allowed users to sync their hotmail account and the Outlook account information into the same place, as a way to unify the services. The company dropped the program shortly after, yet promised that it would launch it again in the future.

If this proves true, it would mean that the software giant decided to relaunch the service with the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system that should be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. Until then, we should also note that the leaked platform sports something called “WMwidgets,” although it is still uncertain what that would stand for.

Take a look at the screenshots posted by Conflipper on ppcgeeks to see how the new OS would look like.
