Although most of the new SSDs being rolled out onto the market nowadays feature SandForce controllers, that's not really the case with all of them, Super Talent recently unveiling a brand-new addition to their UltraDrive series, namely the MT model, that is powered by the Indilinxs BareFoot controller. The SATA II, 2.5-inch solid-state drive model from Super Talent offers plenty of storage options, as it's available in 60 through 240GB models, all of which feature off-the-shelf SLC and MLC NAND flash to deliver sequential read and write speeds in excess of 200MB/sec.

Moreover, the new UltraDrive MT units come equipped with 64MB of built-in cache, as well as a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, TRIM support and a Garbage collection function, not to mention a very fast access time, of just around 0.1 ms.

Similar to most other SSD drives out there, the new models from Super Talent offer a very good level of resilience to harsh conditions, such as 16G vibrations, 1500G shocks and temperatures ranging between 0 and 70 degrees Celsius, thus making them extremely well suited for a wide variety of applications, including industrial ones, for example.

Plus, UltraDrive SSDs incorporate advanced error correction (ECC), wear leveling and bad block management technologies to ensure enhanced reliability and endurance.

The drives also offer a very good level of reliability (more than 1,000,000 hours of functioning time), virtually no operating noise, while at the same time having exactly the same size as the rest of the UltraDrive series, namely 100.2 x 69.9 x 9.5 mm, which means that they can easily find their way into all sorts of computing systems.

Unfortunately, pricing and availability details for the new Super Talent UltraDrive MT SSDs have not yet been provided, but we'll try our best to let you know as soon as these things hit the shelves.
