The music game genre is on a very high ascending trend these days, as a lot of people are beginning to realize what a fun and entertaining experience it is to play your favorite songs with your family or friends, envisioning yourselves on the stages of the biggest concert halls on Earth. As such, games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band have become extremely popular and are selling very well.

This popularity is also due to the fact that people can download new and fresh songs from the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace, PlayStation Store or even the Rock Band Store made especially for the Nintendo Wii. These tracks are delivered via DLC (Downloadable Content) and serve to keep players interested in the game in the long run.

Hot on the heels of Activision, which announced the DLC lineup for the month of February for its Guitar Hero World Tour game, Harmonix, the creator of the Rock Band franchise has presented the tracks that will appear this week on the online services of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Besides the songs from Irish band Thin Lizzy, people will also get the chance to rock out on tracks from Nikko or The Pretenders.

Here' the full lineup of songs, including their prices, as found on Kotaku:

Thin Lizzy 3 Pack (440 MS Points / $5.49) "Boys are Back in Town (live)" (160 MS Points / $1.99) "Cowboy Song (live)" (160 MS Points / $1.99) "Jailbreak (live)" (160 MS Points / $1.99)

Individual Tracks

Pat Benatar "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" (160 MS Points / $1.99) The Pretenders "Precious" (160 MS Points / $1.99) Nikko "Don't Tell Me" (80 MS Points / $0.99) Nikko "Break My Heart" (80 MS Points / $0.99)

It definitely seems like people will certainly have some interesting things to play on their Rock Band or Rock Band 2 games this week. Hopefully, we'll get to see some even better songs in the weeks to come.
