Although we're pretty sure Japanese customers are not exactly interested in purchasing any HDTVs right now, that's not stopped Toshiba from releasing a brand-new line of Regza HDTVs, the RB2 family.

In fact, the RB2 HDTVs became official in Japan on Friday morning, just before the devastating earthquake hit, followed by that tsunami that's produced a level of damage few people thought possible, ruining thousands of homes and killing a yet unknown number of people (not to mention triggering a very dangerous situation that might even turn into a nuclear disaster).

And while, for the time being, the RB2 will most likely go unnoticed, Japanese customers might ultimately turn back their attention to them, once the echoes of the tragedy that struck their country go silent.

And the RB2 are in fact quite well worthy of attention, given the fact that they offer some fairly interesting features, starting with their displays.

The new RB2 HDVs are available on 40, 32 and 26-inch models, the top-range version being a full HD (1080p) device, while the other two support solely the 1366 x 768 pixels resolutions, all of the three flavors sporting 120Hz panels, though.

It's also interesting to mention that the Toshiba Regza HDTVs come pre-loaded with a Blu-ray player, so that users won't really require an additional accessory in order to enjoy their favorite movies, as well as an USB recording feature, that will enable users to record their favorite TV programs on external USB drives, for later viewing.

No pricing details regarding Toshiba's new RB2 HDTVs have been made available just yet, and there's also no info available on whether this new series of display solutions will make it to western markets as well, but we'll try our best in order to get this information as soon as possible.
