Might surface as high-end devices

Two more handsets coming from the South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung have emerged into the wild recently, namely the Samsung S9110 and i920. Both devices have reportedly received approval from the Bluetooth SIG, and it seems that the latter has even seen FCC’s blessing, which means that the company might announce it in the near future as available for the US market.

The first new device, the Samsung S9110 (GT-S9110), received the Bluetooth SIG approval not too long ago, yet no specific details on its capabilities are known for the moment. What can be said about it is that it will include Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP, that it might also sport Wi-Fi capabilities, and that it could turn out to be a high-end device.

According to UnwiredView, the fact that the handset will be included in the company's S-series is a clear indicator that it will pack a lot of functionalities (the family ranges from low-end to high-end touchscreen devices), while the presence of 'S9' in its model number shows that it might be a luxurious device (compared to the S9402 Ego candybar, the only similar Samsung handset).

As for the second new mobile phone from Samsung, the SCH-i920, we can report that it has seen both Bluetooth SIG and FCC clearance, and that it has been described as a “Cellular/PCS CDMA Phone with Bluetooth, Ev-DO and WLAN.” The handset might turn into the successor of the Verizon Samsung Omnia, also known as SCH-i900.

Unfortunately, there are no further details available on either of the two phones, yet we hope for more pieces of information to surface in the near future. The company is reportedly asking for a 180-day confidentiality time frame, which might suggest that the phones could land in less than half a year, but this is only a wild guess. Stay tuned to learn more details as soon as they emerge.
