South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is reportedly ramping up for an early release of its second iteration of the popular Omnia device, the Samsung i8000 Omnia II. Although the mobile phone had been originally slated for an October launch, it seems that the company decided to make fans happy a little earlier, and the handset will come to the market in Singapore as soon as this weekend.

Previously, the Samsung i8000 Omnia II had been rumored to come to the market about one month before the original launch date, yet the new reports place the release in a rather unexpected time frame. The device comes to the fore running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, and is expected to prove itself as one of the most powerful handsets that sport the platform.

In case this pans out, mobile phone users in Singapore will be the first to enjoy the WinMo 6.1 powered handset, though the 6.5 flavor of the OS will also come to them. In addition, they will also receive a 3.7-inch AMOLED touch screen display that boasts a WVGA resolution, along with a full set of features and functionalities.

The specs list of the phone, in case you don't know already, includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper that sports D1 video-recording capabilities, as well as 3G with HSDPA and HSUPA, a GPS receiver, a Wi-Fi connectivity, and others more. The price tag for the phone has been set at 440 euros before taxes or subsides.

According to GSM Arena, the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD is slated for an August 1 release with a price tag of 540 euros. The handset comes running under the Symbian operating system, also packs a full set of high-end attractive features, and is different from the carrier customized model already available on the market. The company is reported to have worked hard on fixing any issues with the handset before its release, and the time has finally come for users to enjoy its capabilities.
