The contaminated water appears to have reached the Pacific Ocean

You'd think Tepco could go at least three days without announcing a new leak at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant. Well, it turns out you could not be more wrong.

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, the company announced that about 4 tons of possibly contaminated water had leaked into the ground.

Just a couple of days later, i.e. on Thursday, Tepco went public with the news of yet another leak.

The “good” thing is that, as least this time, the company knows for sure what was in the 430 liters of water that leaked from one of the plant's storage tanks.

In case anyone was wondering, this water contained strontium. High radioactive doses of it, to be more precise.

According to SkyNews, Tepco has thus far neither confirmed nor denied rumors that the contaminated water had made it all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

“[The contaminated water] went into the drain and we cannot deny the possibility of it having reached the ocean,” Tepco official Masayuki reportedly said in a statement.

Hopefully, more information will soon be shared with the public.
