Summit Entertainment releases 16-second preview

Hours ago, Summit Entertainment released what the media calls the shortest footage that can pass for a teaser and, in doing so, caused hysteria on the Internet and in the online fan communities. A 16-second teaser trailer for the second installment of “The Twilight Saga,” “New Moon,” has been released, promising fans an even better ride than they had the first time around, if such a thing is even possible.

What’s even better than the release of the teaser is that a full trailer will also follow it shortly: in a little less than three days, when “Bandslam” starts its theatrical run, as we also reported a while ago. The teaser, as you can see below, also includes a bit of one of the two scenes that were premiered at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, namely the motorcycle accident Bella has and Jacob lending her his shirt, much to the delight of female fans some of whom have been dying to see him after packing on muscle.

“Summit Entertainment is debuting a brand new, exclusive theatrical trailer for the second movie in the Saga this Friday along with the all the screenings of its next flick ‘Bandslam.’ We know your appetites for all things ‘Twilight’ can be as big as the Wolf Pack’s after a hunt in the Forks’ woods, so we’ve got a special 14-second [sic] teaser from that very same trailer ready.” MTV says of the recently released teaser.

As we were also telling you a while back, the August 14 trailer will officially mark the onset of the promotional campaign for the vampire flick that is poised to slash and do away with all competition at the box-office once it’s released in November. However, judging by fans’ reaction to the 16-second teaser, it’s probably safe to assume the campaign has already gone into high gear and that the frenzy is just about to begin.

“On August 14th, we will get to see another [trailer]. To be released during the theatrical previews for Summit Entertainment’s next picture (with Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka and Gaelen Connell) ‘Bandslam,’ [it] will officially be the newest preview for ‘New Moon.’ The preview will be shown during the film’s opening weekend, and it will only be available for viewing on the ‘Bandslam’ preview screens.” The Examiner was saying a short while back.

If the second official “New Moon” trailer hits theaters on Friday, this means it will also be released online shortly afterwards. Keep an eye on this space for when it does and, in the meantime, enjoy the teaser below.
