Estimates say that “The Twilight Saga” actually stands good chances at giving “Harry Potter” a run for its money, a franchise that just wrote a page in history for the biggest box-office grossing in the history of cinematography. Given the anticipation and media frenzy surrounding everything “Twilight,” it’s no wonder some fans can barely contain their excitement at the release of new artwork from the second film.

Summit has updated the official website with new artwork, featuring the much-loved characters of Bella, Edward and Jacob, while posters for “New Moon” have also begun to pop on the Internet, from sources yet unidentified. Even better, Summit has also announced most of the dates the film will drop in theaters internationally, with fans in countries like Austria and Australia getting to see it a few days sooner than those in the US, or those who will have to wait until January 2010 (Argentina, China).

Of the posters released, the one showing Robert Pattinson as a golden-eyed, dreamy and perfect Edward Cullen is getting the most ecstatic reception from fans, although Taylor Lautner as Jacob also manages to get hearts racing. Also included is, of course, a shot of Bella and Edward, where the two stand next to each other with little or close to none physical contact. To check out the posters, please see here. If you want to see when “New Moon” arrives in theaters in your country, see the official website.

Speaking of breaking hearts and making fans sigh, just recently, Robert Pattinson was saying in an interview that, while he did understand some of the fascination with “bad guys,” there was no way he could come to terms with the “Team Edward” frenzy “Twilight” generated. As per his own words, Edward is truly gorgeous (and fans will agree) but he is certainly not the type of guy you would want to date, but rather kill in the most brutal manner (fans will probably disagree with him on this one).

“With virtually anyone the nice guys always seem to come last. You always get weirdos like Edward who seem to attract women for some reason. If Edward wasn’t a fictional character and you met him in reality he is like one of those guys who would probably be an axe murderer or something.” Pattinson was saying in the aforementioned interview.
