According to the latest news on the Web, yet another Motorola iDEN mobile phone was recently leaked on the Web, namely the i856. The new handset surfaces shortly after two other iDEN devices from Motorola have recently made it into the wild, the i9 and i465. One thing that is quite interesting about the new i856 mobile phone is the fact that it comes with a sliding form factor, rather unusual for a device of the kind.

Although the images that are available with the new Motorola i856 iDEN handset are rather blurry, we can still recognize a pretty good-looking slider, and the fact that its maker has taken into consideration its design should be appreciated in a way.

When it comes to the specification list of the new iDEN handset, there are not too many things that can be mentioned at the moment, yet we learn that the device is expected to come around with a 2.2-inch display, complemented by a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper. In addition, the new Motorola i856 also includes Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. Another feature of the new mobile phone is the Push to Talk capability, yet that one was expected to be there.

The specs of the new slider do not seem to be that attractive after all, yet we expect to learn more about its capabilities in the future, for there might be something new after all. For the moment, the new Motorola i856 iDEN is reported to be slated for release sometime by the end of the third quarter of the ongoing year. And while the details on the price tag of the handset are rather scarce at the moment, it is expected to cost a little less than the Motorola i9, which is currently priced at $299.
