“What is hidden in snow, comes forth in the thaw,” reads the new poster for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” unveiled on the official viral website Mouth Taped Shut. The film is out in December.

Unlike the previous posters for the film, this one isn't controversial: there's no nudity and there's no suggestion of violence, even though all those who have seen the original or read the novel know they're to expect it.

However, the new artwork does wonders in terms of showing the bond the two leads share, by literally having the silouhette of Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) over the outline of Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara)'s head.

Or, to put it differently, he's in her head – a statement that should make a lot of sense for the aforementioned fans.

Directed by David Fincher, “The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo” promises to be the “feel bad movie of Christmas,” one that should top the original in terms of visuals, story-telling and character portrayal.

One can only hope. It's out on the 21st of December.
