Oslo, Norway-based software company Opera Software announced on Monday that it made new improvements to its Opera Mobile 10 browser available for handsets running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system or under the Symbian S60 platform. The new enhancements come in the form of an upgrade for the latest flavor of the application, Opera Mobile 10 beta 2.

According to the company, this is yet another step it is taking towards the release of the final verion of the browser, and it includes a series of updates that are meant to enhance the user experience with Opera Mobile 10. Among the new enhancements, we can count localization for Hebrew and Arabic-speaking regions, which is the main new feature of the Windows Mobile version of the applications, as well as native keyboard integration as the key addition to the features list of the S60 version.

Right-to-left rendering now works on Opera Mobile 10. - Faster loading. When the Opera icon is pressed, watch out for even faster loading of the browser. - Increased auto-rotation support. More phones now support auto-rotation.

Opera Mobile 10 beta 2 for Symbian S60 now includes native keyboard input integration. Users are now able to use their default keyboards to input characters, allowing users to write in their native languages when searching on Google or writing an e-mail, for example.

Opera Software released the first beta version of Opera Mobile 10 last month, and announced that it was working hard on improving the application. According to the company, the browser is meant to bring the desktop experience to mobile screen, and is one of the first solutions from Opera that comes with a new, unified user interface. Some of the desktop features that Opera Mobile 10 brings to smartphones include Speed Dial, tabbed browsing and password manager.

“With each of our beta releases, we put users first. Their needs are our first priority, which is why it was important for us to add bi-directional language support and the ability to input native characters, such as Chinese, into the browser,” said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. “There are millions of Hebrew, Arabic and Chinese speakers out there, and we want to make sure that Opera works seamlessly for them, allowing them to surf the Web within the comforts of their native language.”
