Norwegian software company Opera was already known to be working on a new flavor of its Opera Mobile browser, and now the company has released the software solution to operators and OEMs around the world. According to the company, the new Opera Mobile 10 is set to arrive on multiple mobile platforms, including Android, BREW, Symbian and Windows Mobile.

What the browser is set to deliver to mobile phone owners when available includes a unified user interface, part of the company's attempt to deliver the same experience to both mobile and desktop users, as well as faster download speeds, and features that are available with the desktop version at the moment. Moreover, the company reiterated its commitment to deliver the same UI over a wide range of mobile operating systems, and to include the same experience into Opera Mini as well.

“As a part of Opera’s shift to unify the look and feel of its mobile browsers, the cross-platform UI framework allows operators and OEMs to implement the same user experience quickly and cost-effectively across their entire range of handsets,” the company notes. The new solution from Opera is meant to offer cost savings to carriers and OEMs, as well as a unified experience to users of different platforms.

“Because no operator offers just one type of mobile phone, Opera has developed a new UI solution that can be deployed on multiple phones and platforms. Due to its pure versatility, the cross-platform UI framework can be customized by Opera to meet brand requirements,” said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. “Our mobile UI has already been deployed on millions of handsets, and the rave reviews we’ve received tell us that Opera has succeeded in creating a unique and visually stunning Web experience that’s easy and compelling for users across the board.”

As many of you might already know, Opera Mobile 10 is currently available for download in a Beta 2 flavor for users of Windows Mobile and Symbian-based handsets. However, the company stresses on the fact that the Android and BREW flavors are only available for carriers and OEMs at the moment, due to the fact that “these platforms present limitations that hinder mass consumer distribution.”
