14 DAY TRIAL // “Twilight” fans who can’t wait a couple of more days to see the new, extended trailer of “New Moon” that will premiere on September 13 at MTV’s Video Music Awards can catch it right now – granted they live in the US and go see “Sorority Row.” If that’s not an option, they can also search online, because poor-quality videos of it have already started popping up on the Internet or, if they luck out, read below for more details, courtesy of MTV.
For starters, this extended trailer brings something Team Edward has been asking for for quite some time: more images of Edward, including a few shots of his shirtless, waiting to expose himself to the world and thus, be slain by the Volturi. A scene only hinted at in the videos released by Summit so far is also now better explained, that is, the one in the forest, where Edward leaves Bella without telling her what made him make this decision. The Volturi also get more time in front of the camera this time, perhaps following massive interest from the fan community in them, MTV further says.
“If the focus of the ‘New Moon’ teaser trailer was on the breakup, and the focus of ‘Meet Jacob Black’ was, obviously, to introduce a new werewolf Jacob, then the focus of this newest trailer is on what comes next. Most of the clip is set in Italy at the end of the film, when Bella is (spoiler!) trying to stop Edward from killing himself by turning himself over to the Volturi. But there is much more to the trailer than just Alice’s shiny yellow Porsche. The element that will probably get the most people excited is the inclusion of Dakota Fanning as the evil vampire Jane (only briefly glimpsed in the last trailer), who has the power to create illusions of pain. The new trailer opens up with a shot of her in Volturi garb and then shows the rest of the Volturi guard before revealing Michael Sheen’s Aro – the head of the Volturi – snapping a poor human’s neck.” MTV writes of the latest trailer.
Also included are a scene where Edward is seen being thrown in the air by the Volturi and another one in which Bella is begging them to spare him the pain. Jacob Black gets some time in the trailer too – of course – as several shots of him have been included: one of him comforting Bella and, admittedly, another one in which he saves her after she goes cliff diving and then asks her why she had done that.
Moments after it was shown in cinema theaters, the new trailer was already available online on websites such as YouTube. It has been pulled down ever since though due to violation of copyrights.
