Interview and new photos to come next week

British actor Robert Pattinson might be more of an absence in “New Moon,” but that doesn’t change the fact that most of the promo campaign for the second film in “The Twilight Saga” is centered on him. As such, with the release date drawing nearer, fans should brace themselves for a long series of Pattinson interviews and photospreads – starting next week, with the French Premiere magazine.

“The next issue of the magazine Premiere, which hits newsstands next Wednesday, will please the fans of Robert Pattinson and ‘Twilight’! In brief, there will be an exclusive interview with Pattinson Robert and a report on ‘New Moon’… the second movie episode of the saga was filmed partly within the medieval city of Montepulciano in Italy. This interview gave occasion for Pattinson Robert, while maintaining his sense of humor, to take stock of his sudden notoriety… and his projects after ‘Twilight.’ In particular, discover six pages of exclusive reports and new images…” Twilight Lexicon says of the upcoming issue of Premiere magazine.

Although fans still have to wait until next week to check out the interview – and then a few hours more until it’s translated in English, for those who don’t speak French –, they already have plenty of Pattinson to go around, including the Premiere cover, which sees the actor doing his best brooding face in a Batman, white tee. Other photos with the British megastar now out include a People magazine spread, which comes with exclusive and never-before-seen “New Moon” images with Pattinson’s Edward and Dakota Fanning’s Jane of the Voulturi.

Speaking of “New Moon” and the amount of time that Edward Cullen gets in front of the camera, Robert was telling the media just recently that it was precisely here that the appeal of the second movie could be found. As he sees it, “Twilight” put Edward up on a pedestal, but, with “New Moon,” the gorgeous vampire will be humbled by the love he feels for Bella and then learning to deal with the consequences of his departure from her side. It was this “juxtaposition” that made Edward such a lovable character, Pattinson was saying a while back.

“Aesthetically, it looks very different. The script was very different. It’s a completely different mood. So, I’m really interested to see how it works out. It wasn’t just the director that made this one different. It was so different as well because we kind of knew what type of animal that we were dealing. I was much more of a supporting role, in this one. It was actually one of the most relaxing jobs that I’ve ever done. Chris [Weitz, the director] has a really peaceful presence and I got on really well with him.” Robert Pattinson added in the same interview.
