Named Point Look

Bethesda has just released Broken Steel, the third piece of downloadable content for Fallout 3 and the most ambitious so far and people have already began talking about whether the game would be getting more content or not.

Talking to the official Xbox magazine, Peter Hines, who is a vice president at Bethesda, said that “Whether the absolute last one remains to be seen. Because it's been hugely successful. Operation Anchorage vastly exceeded our expectation. It was like '[…] we did how many?' and the Pitt was really successful, after a bit of a false start.”

Basically, if gamers buy enough of Broken Steel and the previous DLC packs, then Bethesda is interested in making even more money by offering more of the same to the fan base.

The only foreseeable problem is that they would really need to escalate their content. After all, Broken Steel has raised the level cap to 30 and has modified the ending of the original release so any new content for the game needs to offer quite a lot in order not to disappoint.

One of the rumors related to new DLC is centered on something called Point Look, which was listed by a retailer as coming in a bundle together with Broken Steel, in the same way that Operation Anchorage and The Pitt are set to arrive on the same disk for those who have not downloaded them.

Another sign that further DLC or even a complete expansion might be coming is the fact that Bethesda has not used all the Achievements and Gamer Points that Microsoft allows companies to deliver to gamers via DLC. As only 350 Gamer Points and just 14 of 30 Achievements have been implemented so far, chances are that Bethesda might be working on a hefty expansion that might take the game to new areas outside the Capital Wasteland, like to the fresh Massachusetts political entity mentioned in Fallout 3.
