Casio's been heavily promoting its G-Shock line of sports watches lately, and now, the company's back with yet another cool addition to their lineup, this time around developed together with famous streetwear brand Alife.

The result is the limited-edition G-Shock X alife watch, that, according to the two companies, combines the best they have to offer in terms of features and functionality.

The timepiece sports a reverse LCD with white detailing, as well as a very small solar panel combined with a large-capacity rechargeable battery, that helps the device work for a very long period of time without any need to exchange batteries.

Moreover, the G-Shock X Alife watch also comes packed with some of the trademark Casio G-Shock features, including Full Auto EL Backlight, World Time (29TZ/48 Cities), 4 Daily Alarms and 1 Snooze Alarm, 1/100th Sec. Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, Mute Function, 12/24 Hr. Formats, Battery Power Indicator and Power Saving Function, while also being waterproof down to 200 meters.

“We look forward to having the Alife brand and Casio G-Shock produce a product together. It shows that an independent brand such as ours is able to make enough noise that a brand as large as G-Shock will distribute our product worldwide,” said Robert Cristofaro AKA Jestism1970 of Alife, adding that “it is very exciting and another step in the direction that the Alife brand will head in the future.”

“We are thrilled to work with such a progressive brand as Alife,” also commented Shigenori Itoh, Vice President of Casio’s Timepiece Division.

“We both share a constant commitment to adapt to our consumers needs for cutting edge fashion without compromising quality,” Casio's rep continued.

The new G-Shock X alife watch (part number G5500AL-1) will become officially available in stores over the course of January 2011, the estimate price point being set at around $130.
