Just about everyone who's ever loved parading their cool, sportsy-like timepiece in front of their friends is quite well accustomed to Casio's G-Shock line, these very resilient watches managing to maintain quite a high level of interest (and fame) over the years.

However, it seems that rolling out watches that can really take a beating and look very good afterwards simply wasn't enough for Casion, since they've decided to add some “sparkle” to this concept and outed the Deco-G series, a timepiece targeting specifically those who can't be seen with wearing just a tad of “bling-bling”.

Anyway, as AkihabaraNews informs us, the watch in question, item GMN691G- 1DEC, has been encrusted in hand selected crystals, and features a black on black design, glossy band and gold reverse LCD.

However, in spite of the crystals, the Deco-G retains some of the trademark features of the G-Shock series, such as shock resistance, 100M water resistance, auto EL backlight with afterglow, 48-city world time, 5 daily alarms, countdown timer, 1/100 second chronograph and 12/24 formats.

According to Casio, the Deco-G targets mostly a female audience, who'll love the crystal-rugged features combo the watch delivers.

Curiously enough, Casio has decided to launch the Deco-G model in a limited edition (just 50 units will be manufactured), meaning that either it wants to use it as a test-batch and analyze the customers' reactions in order to see whether a larger series will sell or not, or they don't want to push this whole sparkly crystal deal too far.

The limited edition G-Shock Deco-G (GMN691G-1DEC) is available exclusively at selected Bloomingdales and sells for around 200 US dollars a piece, which means that if you really want to own this collector's item, you should hurry, since it's most likely going to sell out pretty fast.
